These are a few painting from the ‘media’ collection. I made a painting on newspaper covered canvas. It had a raw feeling and I liked it. On a rough, uneven, irregular surface – it seemed to work. After-all we\u2019re all imperfect stories unfolding, all influenced by media – newspaper, film, television. It colors us, it’s there in our background. The one painting became a collection of 27 called \u2018media\u2019.<\/p>\n

Painter, workshop host, and serial sketchbook filler. I\u2019ve painted in rain, sun, wind, cafes, studios, streets, and the occasional chaotic vision. I\u2019ve taught people who\u2019ve never picked up a brush, and people who\u2019ve painted for decades \u2014 and I\u2019ve learned something from every one of them (usually: bring snacks and extra paper). My workshops are practical, encouraging, and slightly messy (on purpose). You\u2019ll learn to observe better, paint more boldly, and enjoy the beautiful chaos that happens when paint meets paper. Whether you're joining for a short sketching session or a full painting retreat, expect bad jokes, reasonable coffee, and honest guidance.
