Pete Marshall
These are a few painting from the ‘media’ collection. I made a painting on newspaper covered canvas. It had a raw feeling and I liked it. On a rough, uneven, irregular surface – it seemed to work. After-all we’re all imperfect stories unfolding, all influenced by media – newspaper, film, television. It colors us, it’s there in our background. The one painting became a collection of 27 called ‘media’.

About me
Painter, workshop host, and serial sketchbook filler. I’ve painted in rain, sun, wind, cafes, studios, streets, and the occasional chaotic vision. I’ve taught people who’ve never picked up a brush, and people who’ve painted for decades — and I’ve learned something from every one of them (usually: bring snacks and extra paper). My workshops are practical, encouraging, and slightly messy (on purpose). You’ll learn to observe better, paint more boldly, and enjoy the beautiful chaos that happens when paint meets paper. Whether you're joining for a short sketching session or a full painting retreat, expect bad jokes, reasonable coffee, and honest guidance. And maybe a few paint stains.
